The University is comprised of a large group (roughly 30) various mages who all gathered together with a specific goal in mind: creating a place of magical learning for those who showed the interest. Its individual members come from a varied adventuring background (some more widely known than others or with more experience), but the end result was a collection of rather prosperous mages who opted to pool their resources and begin something new. Their most talented and powerful member was chosen to serve as the Dean, while those with particular focus in their skills were chosen as the individual Heads of their respective departments (Divination, Enchanting, Alteration, etc).
