Nikolai Dragan

Name: Nikolai (Nick) Dragan

Play-By: Steve Bacic

Age: 30

Occupation: Actor

Birth Place: Raleigh, NC

Sexuality: Heterosexual but sometimes it's a damned shame

Physical Description: Nick stands 6’1” with a defined build, brown eyes and darker brown hair including beard (currently).  He has an easy smile and walks and moves with confidence.  His voice is smooth and a bit lower than average, like a late-night ‘Cool Storm’ DJ.

Distinguishing Marks: Minor scars

Personality: Nick is friendly and enjoys meeting new people and hearing about them, empathetic and a natural confidant.  He doesn’t form very many close relationships with people but when he does they are rock solid (at least from his end) and time and distance are irrelevant – once you’re in, you’re in.  He generally doesn’t take failure hard if he doesn’t think it’s his fault preferring to move on to the next thing - which is good in an actor, as there are a lot of flops and failures. Unfortunately, the success ratio can sometimes lead him to not take the work as seriously as he should, but after a take or two or later in the day he gets back in the zone. Failures in personal relationships he’s invested in he can take harder. Generally easygoing in interactions, he does have a temper but it’s hard to reach it, and he can be sarcastic – usually good-natured but it can come out more when he’s annoyed.  He tries to be a realist but deeper down he’s a romantic.

Background: Unremarkable childhood with several moves, high school a mix of sports (mostly wrestling and baseball) and getting into plays. Got a small part with an indie film that was shooting locally that led him to take the chance and move to Hollywood, waiting tables and doing carpentry while pursuing auditions. Moderately successful, with secondary roles in a few one-season shows, guest star roles as things like criminal or victim of the week, boyfriend of main character for an episode or two, small film roles in major movies, larger roles in minor straight-to-cable ones for the first few years once he started getting work, more recently he has transitioned to leads in a number of projects. Much of his work ends up being in scifi/fantasy and romcom/Christmas movies. He's one of those working actors that people recognize but most have to look up on IMDB.

Likes: People, animals, art, nature, rock/alternative/jazz/classical music, old movies, modern blockbusters and quirky films, baseball, running/hiking/climbing/swimming, reading, history, deep dish pizza.

Dislikes: Rude or overly snobbish people, negativity, geese, extreme cold, most modern remakes of old classic movies, orange as a fashion choice, people owning pickup trucks who don’t use them as trucks, excessive decoration.

Strengths: Willing to swallow his pride professionally, ambition. He's a good but not fantastic actor, and he has (mostly) come to terms with his limitations, knowing it's unlikely he's going to be an A-list star. He'll take work where he can get it and is willing to go along with his agent on things to boost his profile...like reality shows. In good shape, trying to stay ready for action roles.

Weaknesses: Can be too trusting, willing to be a bit reckless, his openness and willingness to try things can lead him to bad situations and taking chances on things he should know will flop. Susceptible to flattery, can stick around in bad situations and relationships longer than he should.

Fears: Having to go back to regular jobs, winning a Razzie, drowning, blowing his chance on something important (big audition, date etc)
