Scarlet Moon

The world had changed much after the event known as the "Scarlet Awakening". The event happened over one thousand years ago and was what caused the moon to turn crimson in color and when the one known as Reaper appeared first. Luckily at that time Reaper seemed un interested in too much but where he did go death and destruction was left in his wake. For quite some time it was like this, various kingdoms and so on did try to stop him but all fell short on this but after three hundred years the Reaper sighting just stopped. Rumors flew of what may have happened but it was never truely discovered what had happened.

Time passed but the scarlet colored moon remained and the memory of the Reaper had slowly but steadily faded from most people's memorys....atleast till places that should be left alone are disturbed. A secluded jungle area was found that was surrounded by mountains. At the center of the jungle was a large manor style building with support pillars carved to depict a hooded reaper. Exploring the manor yielded many artifacts and the fact that multiple people had lived here once. In the cellar was found ordinary stuff except one large door that had the emblem of the scythe etched into it. This door was quickly set to work on and eventually opened. However beyond the journal from those who found the manor there was never  anyone seen from that party again but a final entry "We opened the door expecting treasure, marvels of things the Reaper may of collected. All we got was what seemed like endless thick, soot like smoke and the crimson gleaning scythe blade. Is it the Reaper? A demon or somethingelse? I do not know, but we awoke or let it out. Forgive our foolishness."

Character Creation: You'll be starting off at 6th level. Stats you get to roll d6x4 per stat keeping highest 3 to add together for stat (ie rolled: 4, 6, 5, 2 then score would be a 15). If the total is less then 12 then it becomes 12. HP rule to be noted, all hp rolls less then half will be increased to half. (ie:fighter gets d10 so if you roll a 1 you'll get 5 instead). All characters get a +2 bonus to a stat of your choice. This will be explained more at some point in game. Note it as a mystery power increase on your character sheet under racial bonus or such. You start with 20,000gps to buy equipment. Using core books (phb, mm, dmg, etc.) Other books and sources may be allowed but please ask.

Recent/Current: It had been almost two years since each of you had been found just off from the tavern/inn called "Gray Fox". Each of you were found laying in various locations in the area wearing your normal clothes (no armor) but a hole made by what looked to be a sword blade made from back to front which would of pierced your heart. Each has a scar but no blood showed or any other evidence of injury. However for the life of you your memory of how you obtained this scar or how you got here is missing. You had been awoken ack then by a child, no older then ten. She was extremely shy back  then and was being taken care of by the tavern/inn owner. Oddly the owner Iris took you all in, giving you rooms and setting you up with various jobs from errands, guard duty, etc. In this time Iris's adopted child Lya has came out of her shell some also, actually speaking to you and even gets help tending the small garden behind the place that contains Lya's prized orchids that she's so proud of.
